The eagle has landed! 1941 Oliver Bandsaw No.217D. 30" wheels, 1800lbs. The absolute coolest part (for me, anyway): by complete coincidence, this saw was originally owned by my great-grandfather, and was commissioned for a plant that processed magnesium (which was used to make aircraft parts) as part of the war effort. It has passed through at least a few different owners since then, but it has more or less spent the last 70 years kicking around the outskirts of Las Vegas. I just can’t believe that after all this time this saw is here at the shop. #Oliver217
